Book Club Presentations

The Wine Club with a Reading Problem
The Original Mammoth Book Club
On November 29 and 30, I made brief presentations to my book clubs here in Mammoth about The Aunties.  I love to do this, and I am willing to travel to do it.  Please let me know via email: dboucher2008@gmail.com if your group is interested.
Launch of The Aunties at the Booky Joint in Mammoth Lakes took place Saturday, December 16th.  I went very well.  I am sold out of books there, but they can be ordered from Amazon either as paperbacks or as e-books.  I will post again when copies are available locally.
Stacey Powells, a local author and journalist, stopped by and added The Aunties to her holiday reading pile.

Deborahs career is at a dead end. After a splashy debut with her first novel, shes languished as a freelancer, her potential unfulfilled. But the death of an elderly aunt provides unexpected source material, as she and her family discover journals and letters that bring to life a colorful and shocking past. The Aunties is a novel within a novelthe story of Deborahs quest to fictionalize her unexpected legacy. Along the way, she learns more about Marian, her strong-willed grandmother determined to break out of poverty, whose proto-feminism succumbs to the lure of an unwise romance. Her daughters, Deborahs beloved aunties, reap the harvest of their mothers mistake as they travel their own journeys. From Gilded Age America to World War II, from plain farm life to high society, from Americas heartland to wild and colorful Brazil, The Aunties is a story of family love and loyalty through adversity.
